Unfortunately, with over 2000 rugs in stock and many furniture and accessory options getting everything on our website will take some time.

How often does your website update?

Our website is going through a massive makeover to incorporate our new services of ORP Design Center and all the interior design options that we currently offer. The new website will be up shortly and will be updated frequently.

How do you pick the right oriental rug?

Well, it depends on the type of rug you want.  All of our rugs are handmade, either hand tufted, flat weave, or hand-knotted. There are many choices from designs, colors  to size. Please contact us and we would be happy to assist you in finding the correct rug for you.

Do I have to have fringe on my rug?

Well, it depends on the type of rug you want.  All of our rugs are handmade, either hand tufted, flat weave, or hand-knotted.  In a hand-knotted rug, lengths of yarn (usually cotton) are stretched across a loom in one direction (called the warp).  Smaller pieces of wool or silk yarn are then tied to the warp yarns to create the body and design of the rug.  The fringe on each end of a hand-knotted rug is the warp yarns that are clipped from the loom and tied off.   

Do I have to use a rug pad? 

It is generally best to use a natural-rubber rug pad under your handmade rug.  Not only will the pad help prevent slippage, but it will allow the rug to wear more evenly and encourage air circulation with walking and vacuuming.

How often should I have my rug cleaned?

Depending on the traffic and location of your rug, you should have it professionally cleaned every 3 to 5 years.  Cleaning your rug will help the colors stay rich and the wool to maintain its soft feel.

*Do not allow your handmade wool or silk rug to be dry-cleaned or steam cleaned.*

Tips…

Rotate:  To ensure even wear from traffic and sunlight, your rug should be rotated once a year.  Rugs in high traffic areas should be rotated more often.     

In areas of high sunlight it is recommended that your windows be covered with a window film to prevent fading of your rugs as well as your furniture, artwork, and accessories.

Vacuum:  Like carpeting, your rug must be vacuumed on a regular basis to remove dirt and restore life to the fibers.

                        Be sure not to vacuum the fringes or use the vacuum’s beater bar on your rug.
